Children's Health Environmental Coalition is pleased to bring you The Green Home, which sets a precedent for holistic and ecological architecture. This contemporary house, literally built into the hills under the legendary Hollywood sign offers a blueprint for a nontoxic healthy habitat, utilizing building materials and techniques that are protective of human health and the environment.

The house is designed by architect James Chuda known for his groundbreaking work in the field of environmental design. In 1992 James Chuda and his wife Nancy formed Children's Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC) following the tragic loss of their five year-old daughter Colette to a rare form of non-hereditary cancer called wilm's tumor. James Chuda wants to educate people about the need for healthy living. The Green Home is seen as a great example of how to turn the desire for a healthier habitat into reality.
